This is a type of performance where one or more performers perform acrobatics on a fabric that is several meters high and hanging vertically. Performers will not use safety harnesses or nets during the performance, so they can only rely on their training and skills to ensure their personal safety. Towels will be used to wrap, hang, swing, twist and move in and out of various positions in the air. During the performance, the actor appears to fly in the air from one acrobatic pose to the next. Some performers use resin or magnesium oxide on their hands and feet or a little water on the cloth to increase friction, adhesion and grip on the cloth. Cloth variations There are different cloth variations as cloth loop, cloth trapeze and ring cloth. The cloths can shimmer in a wide variety of colors and can also be dyed by the customer upon request. Material The cloth is actually not made of silk, but only has a silk sheen. The vertical cloths are tear resistant and in different sizes . The fabric is usually a blend of polyester, spandex (lycra) and / or polyamide (nylon) and can be stretched in two directions. The width varies according to the artist’s preference. The length of the towels must be at least twice as long from the point of suspension to the floor as they are folded in half at the top, allowing the acrobat to use two lengths of fabric to complete the trick. Training The training usually takes place in a school for artists, whether state or private does not matter. The best circus schools are in Russia, Ukraine and for modern circus arts in France.
