Dinner Jazz
A genre of music that originated in the southern states of the United States around 1900. It was originally produced primarily by African Americans and then developed in a variety of ways, usually intersecting with other musical traditions and genres. At the same time, jazz also encompasses musical forms that usually have little or no connection to African American traditions. In terms of its artistic significance, jazz is usually understood as the American counterpart to European classical music. Moreover, it opens up new possibilities for almost all other musical genres (from popular music to folk song).
