Chill out music – IBIZA – Lounge music
In many discotheques, especially in techno clubs, there are so called relax areas (also called chill out areas) where tired dancers can relax, usually accompanied by a relaxing trance, ambient music, dubbing music, lounge music or soft minimal music. Even in a carnival or club, there is a room where quiet music is played. There you can take a break from hard technology. Cold drinks sometimes provide fruit or special drinks to promote regeneration. On their sound collage album “Chill Out”, the KLF band is said to have first introduced the word “chill out” in 1990. However, there is no verified source. Chill out generally means to let the activity or night fade away.
